Epoch 20- uncertain asset class shifts

Epoch card

Epoch 20, summary card

Executive summary

  • Vault headline assets fell about $196.22 (−1.17% vs opening NAV). Share price moved −1.17% on the published epoch accounting.
  • Oracle sleeve move (perps: Δ unrealised P&L; spot: notional; cash excluded): LITE +$18 vs RKLB −$36.
  • Net flows: we could not read a clean deposits-minus-withdrawals total from this export. Use the appendix links if you need to trace cash in and out.
  • Liquidity / wallets: routine multisig → Hyperliquid buffer cadence; merged ledger shows no extra wallet hop worth calling out beyond the standard rails (see appendix).

Operator desk note

The week of 24–30 August was marked by a lot of uncertainty across asset classes. U.S. indices (S&P 500 and Nasdaq) spent most of the week in positive territory before giving back most of those gains on Friday 28 August after Fed figure Kevin Warsh’s speech, which markets read as hawkish.

In the end, the short-term trend is not clear.

The main tension sits in interest rates, which remain elevated. That raises questions about the future valuation of risk assets, especially artificial-intelligence equities already seen as relatively expensive.

As through 2026 so far, these sessions again showed a very sharp, violent sector rotation. Capital is moving quickly from one asset class to another. This week stood out for relative weakness in semiconductors and a return of relative strength in software, and to a lesser extent in the Magnificent 7.

Heading into September — historically a rather unfavourable seasonality for U.S. indices — the Volta strategy will stay cautious. The near-term goal remains to reduce semiconductor exposure on the next bounce, and to take buy opportunities only in biotech and crypto if a market correction in those sleeves develops during September.

We will also be opportunistic about adding precious-metals exposure, which could benefit from a relative loss of confidence in fiat currencies if sovereign-debt strains and interest rates keep worsening.

Performance

Net PPS, epoch 20

Over 2026-08-24 → 2026-08-31, net share price printed low 1.020642 and high 1.051074. The largest drawdown from a running intra-week high landed at 2.90%. That is the clearest stress point on the path. Volatility showed up in the band: low to high spanned ~2.93% versus week-open net PPS. Into the last tick, PPS sat meaningfully below week open (≈ -1.21%), a soft weekly finish. Open Performance in the app for the same net PPS basis with full zoom.

What drove the week

What drove the week, epoch 20

From week-open to week-end oracle snaps (cash sleeves excluded; perps: Δ unrealised P&L; spot: notional), sleeve-level marks moved most in favour of +$18 and most against −$36. Week 20 (2026-08-24 → 2026-08-31) landed almost no consolidated Hyperliquid clips in this export, so the story here is mostly marks and routing. The epoch card and appendix still anchor the week; consolidated clips will appear in the table below when the export carries ladders.

Allocation by asset class & gross exposure

Allocation by asset class, epoch 20

The clearest sleeve move vs week open is Equities −0.5 pp; other rows sit within roughly ±0.4 pp. Gross exposure (deployed notional / NAV) moved from 53.4% to 53.0% of NAV. (-0.4 pp on gross exposure vs prior week-end). Same asset-class bands as Allocations (History tab); figures are % of vault NAV.
